Ebay Nail Art Supplies

I wanted to do some more elaborate nail art so I ordered some supplies from ebay - here they are!

The butterfly one is really empty because I accidentally dropped it and lost most of them!! So annoying. My favourite wheel is probably the 5th picture down, the "pearl" style rhinestones - I love these! I also bought some dotting tools which you can see in the first photo.

These were a really cheap buy from ebay, I think I paid around £6 for the wheels and £2 for the dotting tools - bargain!! Although I don't know the exact seller I got them from I've found links to similar products below:

You can easily find similar products by searching ebay for "nail art wheel" "nail art dotting tools" or just "nail art" to see what else the wide world of ebay has to offer! Have fun ebaying!

Yet Another Barry M Post!

I love this pastel pink colour - I think pastel colours look perfect in the spring/summer but also like to wear them during the winter months to brighten my day up!

Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream NP309

I've noticed there's definitely a trend on my posts - my Barry M obsession is so obvious! I'll try and get a post up that's not Barry M related tomorrow!

Lilac Snowdrops

This was my first design using the dotting end of my nail art pens. I clustered more of the white dots on the cuticle end of the nail and then gradually faded them outwards towards the tip and afterwards decided this reminded me of snow.

I don't really know why I took the photo like that because you can't see the nails that well, so  I won't be doing that again! Only a quick post this evening because I got back late from work and have to be up tomorrow morning for work again so goodnight!

Summer Skies & Daisies

I decided to invest in some nail art pens from ebay and when they finally arrived I was so excited to test them out! This was the first design I ever tried out with them.

My right hand ended up a little messy but that's to be expected as it was my first time with the pens and after practising with them a lot I am now much tidier with them! Overall I was really pleased with this manicure and I think the pens were a bargain getting 12 for around £6 including postage and packaging! I can't find the ebay seller I bought them from but if you search for nail art pens you'll find loads of sellers with options to buy 12/24/48 or sometimes even 60 varying colours - all for reasonable prices!

Hearts & Stripes

These are the first photos from one of my earliest attempts at something more interesting than just your standard one colour manicure. I really liked this and I think it's one of the rare ones that I wore for several days before getting bored. I've also gone back and recreated it a few times which isn't something I do often. I think the colours are perfect spring/summer tones!

Barry M - Blue Moon NP317
Barry M - Peach Melba NP318

I absolutely adore Barry M nail varnish - I think they've got such a good range of colours and are very affordable which is good for students on a budget like me! The only thing I would say about these two colours specifically (although it is also the case with some other Barry M colours) is that they're very sheer and need at the very least two/three coats for the colour to become quite vibrant! But at £2.99 for the plain polishes and starting from £3.99 for the Nail Effect polishes you can't really complain!

You can buy Barry M nail varnishes from their website - http://www.barrym.com/products/nails/effects.html
And also Boots, Superdrug and other chemists.

Beginnings Of A Blog!

This is something I've been thinking about doing for a few months now - I've always liked painting my nails and will happily spend ages on a manicure only to change it again the next day! I think it's a good way to express creativity and I find it quite relaxing too! Over the past year or so I've built up quite a collection of photos of previous manicures and have considered starting a blog to post these old photos as well as new ones - so here it is.

The inspiration to start up a nail blog came from all the beauty bloggers/youtubers I've been  watching religiously for years. I first came across the world of youtube beauty gurus while searching for a tutorial for cat halloween makeup in 2009 and stumbled upon this excellent one by SWalkerMakeup - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k289giZ6EM

From there I watched some of her other beauty videos and I was hooked after that. Over the past 2 years or so I've built quite a list of excellent bloggers/youtubers that I regularly watch and I would highly recommend. Here are a few of them, just click their name to go to their blog or youtube channel:

SWalkerMakeup
Fleur De Force
BubzBeauty
Gemsmaquillage
missglamorazzi
voussontbeauetbelle

And finally, my favourite nail polish related youtuber:
